Today I am reviewing the AirPort Express purchased yesterday from the Apple Store. My primary purpose of the AirPort Express is to extend the wireless range of our home network. Our setup is a cox modem plugged in to an AirPort Extreme router.

Let me start with saying the quality and craftsmanship is excellent. It plugs in to any wall socket and has an easy setup through your iPhone on iOS 5 or your Mac through AirPort utility. The setup took about 5-7 minutes to complete.

Once you setup the wireless extender through AirPort utility you should be able to travel further with your iPhone, iPod, or any WiFi enabled device. Our router is in a bedroom across the house upstairs and the AirPort Express is downstairs at the other end of the house. Our house is 3,600 square feet and it connected with no issues. Now we are able to use our devices in the backyard as far as another 75 feet or so with no lag.

This is impressive to the say the least. I recommend this product to anyone who needs to extend their range for wireless devices. Also considering purchasing another to extend it out to the front of the house.

According to DigiTimes, Apple may release two iPads in 2012. The Mid and High end models may cater to 2 markets instead of just 1. Digitimes says the iPad may double it’s battery life from 6579 mAH to 14,000 mAH. This is a huge feat considering the technology currently available.

If one company could do it, it would definitely be Apple. Other rumors say it will have a retina display, better cameras with flash, Samsung A6 CPU, slightly thicker, and maybe 4G LTE? Apple will host a trade show at MacWorld January 26, 2012 so you better bet Apple has something up its sleeve.

The newest update to Redsn0w has fixed several issues with the original release. Some fixes include repositories being slow and unresponsive and issues with other tweaks not installing properly. Check it out here. Available for Windows or Mac.

Redsn0w has just released there newest iOS 5.0.1 untethered jailbreak for the iphone 3gs,
iPhone 4g gsm & coma, iPod Touch 3G/4G, and iPad 1. If you would like to attempt it yourself here
is the link Jailbreak Wizard.

The jailbreak is untethered meaning when you restart the iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch you will not
need to plug it back in to the computer to rejailbreak it.

According to MacRumors.com, iPad production is in full swing and is scheduled to be released on Steve Jobs birthday on February 12th 2012. Multiple manufacturers in China have requested that there employees shorten there holiday in January.

It is not new for Apple to release products in Steve Jobs birthday as last year they released the new Macbook pro models with thunderbolt and Safari 4 beta in 2009.

It is unclear at this time what new features will be included as there is no parts leaks or news to be confirmed. I believe the new iPad 3 will feature a full HD display, LTE technology, similar design, and hopefully liquid metal! Also rumored to be an iPad 3 mini is said to compete with budget conscious Kindle Fire offered at only $199.

Don’t expect too many price changes unless the iPad 2 is still available for around $299-499 for 3G models.

It is holiday season and we wish all of our customers and people on the blogs a merry christmas filled with peace and prosperity in the year to come. It is because of you that we are able to serve all of our loyal customers and continue to provide quality customer service and products you expect.

Thanks to all of you!

Happy Holidays.

Victor and Yanira.

If you are an iPhone user stuck on iOS 3.1.3 you will be unable to download new apps from the App store. Fortunately you still can download and update apps from your iTunes library.

It looks like it only affects the iPhone 3G and 3GS users. The glitch is whenever you try to download new apps or update apps it will not allow it to download.

Users have contacted Apple and they are apparently looking into the matter. You may want to try and restore and setup as a new iPhone. There is a great program for the Mac OS X called PhoneView. Well worth it.

Some users in the west coast of the country are reportedly getting T-Mobile’s 3G speed on their unlocked iPhone. This is a pretty big deal considering AT&T just officially removed their bid on purchasing the Deutche Telekom company.

The way it is being done is T-Mobile is “refarming” their network with the 1900mhz frequency which is used by AT&T and a few other operators. T-Mobile commonly uses the rarely users 1700/2100 band. It is amazing that a smaller company can achieve such speeds while AT&T commonly claims the fastest network speeds in the country. The image proves that AT&T isn’t the only game in town now.

This is apparently only working in Nevada, northern California, and the Pacific Northwest. Wouldn’t it be nice to see the iPhone on every carrier? Kudos to T-Mobile.
